Artist's Statement
My art fits into the world of digital illustration. I mostly work in Photoshop, making 2D drawings that focus on characters, mood, and storytelling. I like using color and lighting to make my work feel alive and emotional.
One artist who inspires me a lot is Bo Chen, who works at Riot Games. I really admire how he uses light and color to tell a story and make each character feel powerful and real. His work inspires me to keep practicing and get better at creating scenes that connect with people.
Most of my art is about dreams, emotions, and imagination. I want to work in the game industry one day as an illustrator, creating art that helps bring stories and characters to life. Digital art gives me a lot of freedom to try new things and fix mistakes easily, though sometimes I miss the feeling of working with real paint or pencil.
The projects I've made in this class helped me learn more about composition, design, and storytelling. They connect to what I want to do in the future, and I see them as steps toward building my own art style and portfolio.
I make art because I love creating things that express how I feel and what I imagine. It's not always easy, but it makes me happy and keeps me motivated. My art is also connected to my life—many of my ideas come from games, movies, and personal experiences.
My work isn't really political, but it's influenced by the culture and media I grew up with. I hope my art can inspire others the same way other artists inspired me. In the future, I want to keep improving and make illustrations that tell stories, show emotion, and maybe one day work on big projects like those at Riot Games.
